Forgot to list an example of how the google.cn censorship works... if you type in "tiananmen" in the normal google picture search you get rows of tank pictures; and if you search the same word in google.cn you get a snapshot of US Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez and his wife posing in Tiananmen Square on a p.r. trip....

So tired recently... just had an EMT midterm and tonz of Spanish hw due. Owellz, I uploaded some random pictures, some old pictures of my mom and relatives, and GOOGLE DON'T BE EVIL from TIME magazine. Seriously, Google, the web giant, agreed to censor itself for China, even though it was created for people to have good access to information to improve the world. If you search in google.cn, there will be 2 adorable cartoon figures, a tiny policeman and policewoman with friendly smiles, no noses (for some reason) and huge melting blue anime eyes, who are named Jingjing and Chacha (jingcha is Mandarin for police), and they are there to remind web surfers to behave themselves because the Internet cops are always watching. This is just great! China's web surfers have a choice: they can use slow, relatively uncensored Google.com or speedy, sanitized Google.cn. But I guess 30,000 internet police probably cannot keep the 4 million bloggers under scrutiny; sooner or later the government is going to lose the war. The government should get over the fact that the future of the People's Republic hangs on a bunch of search results... I guess getting a foothold in the Chinese market allows Google to survive another 20 years because of its 111 million internet users; this just means one thing: there can be only one kind of company, the kind that makes $$. Even Google, of its snowy-white brand identity, chose to dance with the dragon.

Pues, me transmitir a algunos fotos al azar, viejos fotos de mi mamá y a parientes, y fotos "GOOGLE NO SON MALVADOS" del TIEMPO revista. Seriamente, Google, el gigante de la compañía, convino el censor sí mismo para China, aunque fue creado para que a la gente tenga buen acceso a la información para mejorar el mundo. Si usted busca en google.cn, habrá 2 figuras adorables de la historieta, policía minúsculo y la mujer policía con sonrisas amistosas, ningunas narices (por razón del soem) y los ojos azules enormes del anime que derriten, que se nombran Jingjing y Chacha (el jingcha es mandarín para el policía), y ella está allí recordar a personas que practica surf de tela comportarse porque los polis del Internet están mirando siempre. ¡Esto es apenas grande! Las personas que practica surf de tela de China tienen una opción: pueden utilizar Google.com lento, relativamente no censurado o Google.cn rápido, esterilizado. Alright... here're the 2007 Mercedes S550, Nissan Sentra, and Honda Civic (yeah, Sentra and Civic). Why did I put a sentra and a civic here? Because I think it's crazy that even a sentra has 2-tone leather seats, an intelligent key that never needs to leave your pocket (like the infiniti ones) that starts the engine at a push of a button, Bluetooth handsfree system, drive computer (like BMWs), and even a "secret compartment" in the trunk that hides your laptop and expensive stuff and all kinds of goodies; Civic, on the other hand, has a digital speedometer (like the S2000), GPS system available, etc. I'm just surprised that now for so little money (less than 20k) you can get a "cheap" car with options that are probably better than a luxury car 10 years ago. I guess they don't want to distrub the lower-income bracket becuase I found out that Sentra does not have a GPS option, nor does Civic has leather seats option (you pick either or). It's crazy how the automotive industry has advanced. Anyhow, I think the new Sentra looks like a small Maxima/G35 sedan, and it looks A LOT like the new Cadillac STS (pics also included for reference). And lastly, of course, my new dream car, the BMW M6. It's equipped with the same V10 engine as the M5, with the 7-speed SMG transmission, which uses only 5.0 litre to produce 500/7750 hp and 383/6100 lb-ft of torque, adding the carbon-fibre rooftop and so on... Alright, i am gonna start working my ass off and save up now... lol

Porque pienso está loco que incluso un sentra tiene 2-tone asientos de cuero, una llave inteligente que nunca las necesidades de dejar su bolsillo (como el infiniti unos) y de encender el motor en un empuje de un botón, un sistema sin manos de Bluetooth, una computadora de la impulsión (como BMWs), e incluso un "compartimiento secreto" en el tronco que oculta su computadora portátil y materia costosa y todas las clases de goodies; Cívico, por otra parte, tiene un velocímetro digital (como el S2000), el sistema del GPS disponible, etc. Apenas estoy sorprendido que ahora para tan poco dinero (menos que 20k) usted puede conseguir un coche "barato" con las opciones que son probablemente mejores que un coche de lujo hace 10 años. Conjeturo que no desean al distrub el becuase del soporte de la bajo-renta que descubrí que Sentra no tiene una opción del GPS, ni lo hace cívico tiene opción de cuero de los asientos (usted escoge cualquiera o). Está loca cómo la industria del automóvil ha avanzado. De todos modos, pienso los nuevos parecer de Sentra un Maxima/G35 pequeño sedan, y parece mucho el Cadillac nuevo STS (pics también incluido para la referencia). Y pasado, por supuesto, mi coche ideal nuevo, el BMW M6. Se equipa del mismo motor V10 que el M5, tiene la transmisión de 7-speed SMG, tejado de la carbo'n-fibra, etcétera... New Year, New Goals? 新年新目標？

Before New Years we went to Mountain View to visit Jeremiah and one of my mom's friends... it was pretty good cuz we both get to see our "old friends" once again.
We also went to Napa Valley for a wine tasting tour. When we got back to Irvine it was already 11:20pm on 12/31; missed the countdown unpacking our luggages. My mom's visit was very pleasant... she even cooked a lot of delicious food including shredded pork rice and beef tendons... yummy. We visited many beaches along the coastline (San Pedro Beach, Long Bech, Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Laguna Beach) when we were back to SoCal... it was a nice cruise. Last update for me is I almost broke my leg snowboarding yesterday... fell like 12 times and the last fell hit really hard on my right buttocks and I flipped 3 times on the hard "artificial snow..." (yeah I know, ouchie) hopefully I'll recover before Monday. I gotta go to the jacuzzi now...
PS: Forgot my goals... get into medical school; exercise for 30 min a day, at lesat 3 days a week; read and study for at least 2 hrs a day; earn more money to repay my endless debt to my great mother...

國曆過年前我們去山景市探望芥名兄以及我母親的一個朋友... 當時感覺還不錯因為我和母親都再次看到了多年不見的"老朋友. 我們也去了納波谷的品酒之遊. 我們回到爾灣市時已市12/31的晚上11:20了. 我們在整理行李中錯過了倒數. 母親這次的探望令我們非常的高興...她還幫我們煮了許多好吃的食物像瓜子滷肉飯和滷牛筋... *流口水* 我們回來後還觀光了許多南加沿岸的海邊(聖必琢岸,長岸席爾岸,漢庭藤岸,新玻岸,以及拉古納岸), 那天開的還蠻愉快的. 最近的我的新聞是我昨天滑雪時差點摔斷我的右腿... 跌了差不多12次, 最後一次跌的蠻重的... 我飛起來撞到右臀骨然後在不是很軟的人造雪上滾了三圈... (我知道, 哎呀好痛) 希望我星期一前會復原. 現在我要去泡熱水池了...
附:忘了我的目標了: 考進醫學院, 每禮拜最少運動3天, 每天30分鐘; 每天最少讀書學習2小時, 賺更多錢好報答母親大人...
